Last week, Lenovo announced that it would launch a new Android smartphone in India, but did not disclose any details on what model it would introduce.

Although everything pointed to a Vibe Z reveal, we weren’t sure that the Chinese company would go live with the high-end smartphone. However, fonearena reports that Lenovo has just announced the upcoming availability of the rumored Vibe Z in India.

The smartphone will be available for purchase in India later this month for no less than Rs 35,999 outright, which is about $575 or €420.

The actual release of the Vibe Z in India doesn’t seem to be too well planned, as many handset makers will announce their new products later this month at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.

Not to mention that the price is a bit too high for an emerging market such as India, where there are lots of other alternatives at lower prices.

Anyway, those looking to grab Lenovo’s Vibe Z in India should know that the smartphone ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box with Vibe ROM.

In addition, the smartphone packs a powerful 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor inside, which is complemented by an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

Lenovo Vibe Z comes with 16GB of internal memory, but does not feature microSD card slot for memory expansion, which is one of the few downsides of the smartphone.

Furthermore, the handset boasts a hyper vibrant 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the back, the Vibe Z packs an impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there’s a secondary 5-megapixel camera.

The Vibe Z is powered by a high capacity 3000 mAh Li-Polymer non-removable battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options, including HSDPA, LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
