A few weeks back, Chinese mobile phone maker Lenovo officially announced plans to make the Android 4.4.1 KitKat operating system version available for its Vibe Z handsets out there, and it seems that the company is currently deploying the update in Malaysia.

According to the latest reports on the matter, the 5.5-inch smartphone from the company is currently receiving the platform update over the air in the country.

The download is a fairly large one, weighing 1.2GB, which means that users might want to consider downloading it over a Wi-Fi connection. Thus, they can grab it faster than on a mobile network, and they also ensure that no data overcharges occur.

The new update will provide users with all of the features and enhancements that Android 4.4.2 was announced with, as well as with a series of additional improvements.

The platform upgrade comes to devices with a cleaner user interface, and some people also claim that it has improved WiFi signal strength, a post on soyacincau reads.

Lenovo Vibe Z owners should receive a notification on the availability of the update for their devices, but they can also manually check for it, by heading to Settings > About phone > Software update and hitting the Check now button. The update should start emerging on other markets soon, so stay tuned.
