Lenovo came pretty heavily armed at the IFA 2013 held in Berlin this month and now the company has unleashed a whole host of new ThinkPad enhanced notebooks.

The freshly squeezed ThinkPads will come sporting a new airy design, full connectivity capabilities and most importantly prolonged batter life. As every tablet owner knows from experience, battery issues have been at the top of consumers’ lists of complaints.

Dilip Bhatia, vice president of ThinkPad Marketing at Lenovo, introduced the lines by stating:

“As the No.1 commercial notebook PC maker in the world, we remain committed to our core business line of legendary ThinkPad notebooks – and to the consumers who use them. The latest ThinkPad model raise the bar for business class notebooks with new high resolution displays, processor upgrades and powerful graphics delivering exceptional performance and proven security features, in a simpler, cleaner design.”

Let’s start with the T440 and T540p line, which is advertised as Lenovo’s Premium Business Notebook line. Both devices pack an Intel Quad Core i7 processor, 16GB SDRAM and up to 1 TB in HDD under the hood.

You might not believe this, but the battery is said to last up to 13.7 hours on the T440p and 12.6 hours for the T540p. Other features include the NVIDIA GeForce GT730M graphics card, 4G/LTE connectivity with mini-DisplayPort, VGA, four USB 3.0 ports.

The ThinkPad W540 blends functionality with extremely powerful features which will probably attract business professionals everywhere. Lenovo calls it “an independent software vendor (ISV) certified mobile workstation.”

The notebook carries a Quad Core i7 processor and can support up to 32GB of memory. The screen resolution is also pretty impressive – 2880 x 1620. Future users of W540 will be able to transfer data at high rates due to the Thunderbolt port. The W540 also brings NVIDIA Quadro graphics with Optimus 2D and 3D content.

Next in line, we have the L Series (L440 and L540) which is the most accessible notebook from the entire collection launched by Lenovo. The two Ls have been given the same i7 processor treatment, with some extra additions like the dual HD noise cancelling mics. We should also note, the vPro technology which allows the notebooks to be effortlessly integrated into already existing IT systems.

Last but not least, we have the E Series (E440 and E540) which supposedly brings out the best there is in the Windows 8 experience. The E devices sport a thin look, which has been complemented with some classic touches. These notebooks are targeted at small businesses and so are said to be very affordable.

The Es pack a Quad Core Intel Processor each and optional NVIDIA discrete graphics. Due to their resolution of 14-inch HD+ and 15.6-inch Full HD antiglare displays, it will be a breeze to use Microsoft’s latest operating system on them.

If you are already wondering what the new ThinkPads will cost, we can tell you that the ThinkPad L440 and ThinkPad L540 will both start at $720.

The E series will bear a smaller price tag, as mentioned above, with the E440 being approximately $649 and the E540 $629.

The Ls and Es will start being available in select markets starting October. Price details for the T series, the W540 are not available yet, but we do know they will start being available in November.
