The Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga convertible is a versatile 2-in-1 Ultrabook laptop that offers four modes of use. But not everybody is familiar with the full name of the device, which is the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge S1 Yoga.

We’re pointing out this aspect because the folks at Notebook Italia have uncovered on the Lenovo official support website, a bunch of abbreviations like ThinkPad 5S Yoga 15, S3 Yoga 14, S1 Yoga, S1 Yoga 12, Yoga 11e, apparently indicating that the Chinese company is looking to extend its ThinkPad Yoga portfolio.

Furthermore, the Indonesian website Postel also recently granted certification to the Yoga ThinkPad S3 14, which makes us think that the launch of the new models is quite imminent.

The Lenovo ThinkPad S1 Yoga and ThinkPad Yoga 11e are models that are already available on the market, running Windows 8 and Chrome OS respectively.

So we are left with the Lenovo ThinkPad S5 Yoga, ThinkPad S3 Yoga 14 and ThinkPad S1 Yoga 12.

For simplicity reasons, we’re going to be calling these models the ThinkPad Yoga 15, 14 and 12, which will most likely be convertibles coming in with 15-inch, 14-inch and 12-inch screen sizes.

Surely, at the moment we have a ThinkPad Yoga boasting a 12.5-inch screen, but we shouldn't rule out the fact that the new model will arrive with a hardware upgrade.

In all possibility, the three models could take advantage of Intel’s new “Broadwell” architecture and bundle either Core i3/i5/i7 chips.

Surely, we’re not going to see the new models arrive before 2015 and Lenovo will probably offer them with a choice between HD, full HD and QHD resolution.

Since Windows 9 is expected to make a debut in September, we might as well assume the new ThinkPads will take advantage of the new version of the OS.

The convertibles should offer at least 10 hours of battery life if not better. Even if information is quite scarce about these products, it might be possible that Lenovo will choose to reveal some details at IFA 2014 next month, but don’t hold your breath.

Currently, the Lenovo ThinkPad S1 Yoga arrives with a 12.5-inch display offering up to 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution. Power is drawn from a 2.1GHz Intel Core i7 4600U fitted with 8GB of RAM and backed up by 256GB Solid State Drive.

The convertible sells for quite a hefty price ($1,479 / €1,120) so we expect the upcoming models to be sold for comparable rates.
