Could also get Intel Ivy Bridge CPUs and up to 1TB of storage

Tired of waiting for CES 2012 to open its gates, Lenovo has introduced a new Ultrabook computer called the ThinkPad T430u that has business users in its sight and comes equipped with a discrete graphics card built by Nvidia.

This will be available as an option as users can still chose to rely on Intel’s integrated GPUs if they want to keep costs under control.

Details are kind of scarce at this moment regarding the CPUs that Lenovo wants to use in the ThinkPad T430u, but if we were to “guess” we would say that is highly likely for these Ultrabooks to get their power from Ivy Bridge processors.

On the storage front, users will be able to choose from various hard drives and SSDs, Lenovo saying that the ultra-thin laptop will also be available in configurations offering 1TB of capacity, which is definitely a lot for an Ultrabook.

All of these will be packed inside a case sporting all the usual design cues of the ThinkPad line and which will be slightly taller and heavier than its consumer oriented U300s cousin.

The extra room has however enabled Lenovo to add quite a few new features (for an Ultrabook that is) in the ThinkPad T430u such as an SD card reader or a full size HDMI port.

As usual, these are accompanied by a series of other ports and connectors including two USB 3.0 ports and an Ethernet jack.

For now, we don’t know exactly when the 14-inch ThinkPad T430u will arrive as Lenovo has only mentioned Q3 2012 as its availability date, but pricing should start at $849 US (657 EUR), which should make it a nice alternative to HP’s Folio 13, one of the few others business-centric Ultrabooks out there.
