Not a month goes by without Lenovo teasing some kind of a new laptop, but that’s all to be expected since the Chinese company is the world’s largest PC vendor.

Well, this week we have a fresh one for you. The folks over at Notebook Italia noticed the unannounced Lenovo ThinkPad E555 has popped up in the official Lenovo Italian webstore, but you can’t buy it just yet.

Lenovo ThinkPad E555 means business

However, we get a detailed view of what Lenovo’s upcoming laptop is going to be like. The ThinkPad E555 is going to arrive with a 15.6-inch form factor and will measure 377 x 255 x 27.1 mm / 14.8 x 10 x 1.06 inches, while breaking the scale at 2.4 kg / 5.29 lbs.

Lenovo’s official webpage says the ThinkPad E555 is perfect for small businesses, arriving with a 15.6-inch panel offering the average 1366 x 768 pixel resolution, which most laptops these days tend to take advantage of.

As for internal hardware, you might be expecting to see an Intel chip packed under the hood, but this is not the case here. For the ThinkPad E555, Lenovo has opted to go with the APU AMD A8-7100 clocked at 1.8GHz from the Kaveri family that works in concert with an AMD Radeon R5 instead of GCN 1.1 architecture (Graphics Core Next).

Everything onboard is fitted with 8GB of RAM and several storage solutions, including a traditional hard drive of 1TB, one hybrid 500GB with 8GB of NAND flash memory to act as cache. Other specifications include Gigabit Ethernet modules, Wi-Fi 802.11n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Along the sides of the notebook live two USB 3.0 ports, a 2.0 one, HDMI out, VGA video outputs, SD card reader and RJ45 plug for connecting to wired networks, audio jack and headphones combo plus a microphone and Kensington security lock.

Lenovo's own OneLink technology is being offered with this budget laptop

Furthermore, the laptop takes advantage of Lenovo’s OneLink technology which offers a dock and power connector that will allow you to transmit audio and video with a single connection.

Last but not least, the Lenovo ThinkPad E555 relies on a 4400 mAh battery that will sustain up to 6 hours of life onboard. It’s not a lot, but it’s certainly better than the current norm.

Since the laptop appeared on the official Lenovo website, we can guess the machine will soon be made available for purchase. When that happens, we can’t really tell you exactly. Nevertheless, we expect the notebook to come bundling a decent price tag revolving around the $500 / €402 margin.
