The device was first introduced earlier this month in Las Vegas

I’ve been telling you that Lenovo’s new ThinkPad 8 tablet, the one unveiled at CES 2014, has been spotted as being available for pre-order in Europe.

But now the Lenovo official website has the new slate with 64GB in stock and customers can order one for $429 / €314 a pop.

The tablet has been constructed using machine-cut aluminum and can be used as a stand-alone tablet, but it can provide a full PC experience as well. Users can connect the device to a keyboard and a display in order to use it in desktop mode.

The device comes with the optional Quickshot Cover, which I have told you about previously, detailing how the Lenovo design team came up with the idea.

As for specifications, we have a pretty capable slate on our hands. The ThinkPad 8 has an 8.3-inch screen with a worthy 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and packs under the bonnet an Intel Bay Trail quad-core processor.

Moreover, the slate has a capable 8MP main camera, microHDMI out, Miracast technology, microUSB 3.0 and LTE connectivity (a feat originally advertised by Lenovo, which has now been wiped off the official page) to help mobile professionals stay connected at all times.

Last but not least, the machine runs Windows 8 Pro and at this price, the slate makes for a pretty decent acquisition.
