In April, Lenovo introduced its new lineup of tablets coming under the A-Series, including the A7-30, A7-50, A8 and A10, all budget offerings coming with mid-range specifications.

Since then, we have been waiting to hear from Lenovo regarding the date when the tablets will finally be made available for consumers.

Now, one of the smallest tablet from the lineup, the Lenovo A7-50 has made its debut in the PC makers’ official online store, as reported by FoneArena.

The device doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary, so don’t expect to get anything too mouthwatering here. The A7-50 arrives equipped with a 7-inch HD IPS screen delivering the standard resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

Power is drawn from a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382 processor fitted with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which is upgradable to 32GB via the microSD card if needed.

Other specifications include the usual two cameras (5MP on the back and 2MP up in front), 3.5mm audio jack, dual front-facing speakers, Dolby Digital Plus and a decent 3450 mAh battery.

The A7-50 is also equipped with 3G HSPA+ which means you can use the tablet as a phone too, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS.

The device arrives with Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box, but Lenovo says the tablet is upgradable to Android 4.4 (KitKat). However, we’re not provided with an exact time-line and those grabbing the slate might be left waiting for some time before being bumped to the latest Android build.

As we know, Lenovo is not the quickest in the bunch to provide software updates for its products. For example, the Lenovo Yoga tablet owners have been expecting the KitKat update for a while now, but recent reports seem to indicate the new build might make it out soon.

The Lenovo A7-50 tablet arrives in Midnight Blue coloring options and should sell for Rs. 15,499 / $261 / €192 although retailer Mahesh Telecom claims the device could hit the market with a price-tag as low as Rs. 14,999 / $244 / €180.

The price tag seems to be a little elevated considering what’s being offered here and by doing a little research you might stumble upon worthier options that will cost you a bit less.

For the time being Lenovo says the Tab A7-50 will ship out to customers in 8-10 business days. But we can’t tell you when the other A Series tablets will become available in the country.
