Remember the Lenovo S90, dubbed Sisley, which was launched back in November in China? Assuming you’re a fan of iPhone 6 clones, you probably do and you might have loved the design and the semi-affordable $330 / €265 price tag it bore.

Today, Lenovo has rolled out a cheaper variation of the S90, called the S60, which is offered on the Indian market.

The phone is available in White, Grey and Yellow paint jobs and can be purchased from the company’s own Do Store and Amazon India for only $204 / €179 a pop.

Lenovo S60 is an affordable new phone

For this amount of money, customers will get a 5-inch HD display that is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor.

Lenovo is also throwing in 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot) and a 2150 mAh battery.

On the imaging front, there’s a 13MP primary camera with LED flash, while on the back lies a 5MP frontal shooter with fixed focus. The S60 is also 4G LTE-capable.

We’re told the phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, which is not really good news. Given Lenovo’s software update track record, owners of the S60 have a long wait ahead of them for Android 5.0 Lollipop, if that ever comes.

Interestingly enough, while the S90 Sisley model was priced higher, its specs were certainly lower. The iPhone 6 copycat arrived with a 5-inch AMOLED capacity touchscreen display with HD (720p) resolution.

On the inside, the Sisley draws power from a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor working in concert with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

There’s also an enhanced 13MP photo snapper on the back and an impressive 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. So the beefed-up price tag of this particular handset is probably justified by its design.

Should you be investing in the Lenovo S60?

Going back to the Lenovo S60, with this price range, the device will go on to compete with the Xiaomi Mi 4i in the country, although the latter is specced a lot better.

The phone made a debut with a 5-inch Sharp/JDI fully laminated display with 1080 x 1920 (full HD) resolution and a Snapdragon 615 chip under the hood, fitted with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
