Though the year is almost over, there is still time for an IT expo, so Singapore will host the SITEX, where Lenovo, along with many others, will show off some year-end devices.

The SITEX 2011 show will take place between November 24 and 27 and will be a sort of preparatory event for consumers getting ready to enter the holiday shopping sprees.

Lenovo will have several things to showcase there, three of which are laptops.

One of them is a ThinkPad series product, ThinkPad E420 by name, a business notebook usually priced at S$1,499 ($1,160 / 859 Euro) but which should sport a better tag at the show

Armed with multitouch TouchPad, a TrackPoint and a spill resistant keyboard, the 14-inch product also boasts the ThinkVantage technology, for administrative help.

Another product that will be there is the IdeaPad U400, also 14 inches in diagonal only more multimedia-oriented.

It has a second-generation Intel Core chip, AMD discrete graphics and Intel Wireless Display, plus SRS Premium Surround Sound.

It should have mostly the same price as the ThinkPad E420 (again, not clear on what deals SITEX will have).

The third item is the IdeaPad Z470, which also measures 14 inches (this seems to be the smallest screen size where a notebook isn't in 'danger' of being compared to an ultrabook).

It has SRS premium Surround Sound, OneKey Theater (switches from normal to theater mode at any time) and, obviously, is more of a casual, entertainment device than a powerhouse.

It is cheaper than the others, at S$1.299, which is about the same as $1,005 / 744 Euro. Again, no word on the SITEX price.

Many other companies will attend the show, such as Microsoft, Acer, D-Link, HP, Nikon, Philips, Toshiba, etc.

After that, the next big gathering will be CES 2012 (Consumer Electronics Show).
