Lenovo, the PC vendor whose name has been involved in the recent Windows 7 RTM Ultimate activation crack news, is apparently preparing the launch of a new ultraportable computer system, part of the company's IdeaPad line of PCs. The new laptop has just surfaced on the company's website, under the IdeaPad U450p branding.
Although no specific details have yet been made available on the new system, it is bound to get an official release soon.
According to a page on the company's website, the new machine will be made available as the U450p and will likely sport a low-power platform in a 14-inch chassis. There are no specific details on the system's technical sheet, but users should expect a 14-inch display on a laptop that will be powered by an energy-efficient ULV processor. In addition, according to the details made available on the aforementioned page, the IdeaPad U450p will also boasts an integrated optical drive and “many smart features.”
Given the available details, the new laptop could pack Intel's increasingly popular CULV platforms and integrated graphics. The interesting part about Lenovo's new release is that it will also boast an integrated optical drive, a feature that isn't available on most ultraportable, ultra-thin laptops. Aside from that, we are guessing that the 14-inch display will be glossy and that you'll be provided with a choice for a Windows Vista operating system.
Unfortunately, we have no more details regarding the technical specifications of said laptop, but the PC vendor is bound to reveal more in the near future. From what we can tell, the IdeaPad U450p is going to compete in this fast growing market for ultraportable and ultra-thin laptops that are built using Intel's CULV platform. We should have a better picture of what this new system has to offer when the company decides to officially take the wraps off it.
