Lenovo might be gearing up to show new tablet models at MWC 2014

Earlier this month a couple of new 8-inch Lenovo tablets (A7600 and A5500) were spotted paying a visit to the FCC and showed up on the GFXBenchmark later on. But now it appears Lenovo is prepping new 7-inchers, as well.

Lenovo already has fresh 8-inch and 10-inch products on the market, and it was obviously missing some new 7-inchers, leaving that sector of the tablet market uncovered (although Lenovo has some products in this category, like the S5000).

But not for long, apparently. A new Lenovo model, the A3300 (possible successor of last year’s A3000) has been uncovered in the Bluetooth SIG database.

The new tablet has a 7-inch screen, runs on Android and brings GSM capabilities plus microSD card reader and Bluetooth.

Upon doing some research on Lenovo Russia forums, TabletsMagazine managed to uncover some more info about the A3300. Apparently, the slate will draw power from a Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz combined with 1GB of RAM.

The device will have a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels and dual cameras (0.3MP webcam in front and 2MP camera on the back). Lenovo will pre-load the 7-incher with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Bottom line, it’s going to be a low-end tablet, Lenovo might plan to market in developing territories.

On the same forum trace of another 7-inch model coming from Lenovo, the A3500, was also uncovered. The second model differs slightly from the previous one we presented and comes equipped with a marginally improved resolution of 1280 x 800 and a better camera on the back (5MP instead of 2MP).

No information about pricing or availability was unearthed on the Russian forum, but take the information with a grain of salt when it comes to the second model. Furthermore, we could speculate Lenovo will be done prepping the devices (or at least the A3300) just in time to showcase them at MWC 2014 in Barcelona, next month.
