Lenovo is hoping to attract a lot of customers looking for cheap devices

The Lenovo IdeaPad S20-30 is an inexpensive notebook running Windows 8 with Bing. The device has already been spotted with a European retailer and will probably make it to the US soon enough, as well.

But this doesn’t mean Lenovo will be stopping here with the budget notebooks. Not by a long shot. Industry sources reported by the Asian publication DigiTimes claim that Lenovo is looking to partner up with Compal Electronics in order to launch more Windows 8 notebooks with $199 to $249 / €149 to €186 price tags.

The report doesn’t mention Windows 8 with Bing, but I have to assume this will be the case. Lenovo has about four months to develop and produce these products before the super busy Holiday season kickstarts.

So towards the end of the year, expect to see a whole bunch of cheap Windows 8.1 notebooks coming from Lenovo.

These products will probably have similar specs as the IdeaPad 20-30 mentioned above. This product arrives with an 11.6-inch screen and offers 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

Power is drawn from an Intel Celeron N2830 Bay Trail-T processor fitted with 500GB hard drive. The notebook benefits from Lenovo’s characteristic AccuType keyboard, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and audio jack / mic combo.   Does it sound good? We have a few months to wait until we can see more of them.
