New things are coming from Lenovo, according to the latest details on the Internet, as this PC vendor appears to be embracing almost all of the latest technologies in the IT industry. Following last week's announcement that the company would be the first to roll out a Snapdragon-based smartbook, Lenovo is now said to have adopted Intel's upcoming Pineview-based Atom platform, for one of the company's next-generation IdeaPad ultraportable system. The netbook has just passed through a photo shoot at the FCC, which opens its way to the market.

According to a recent news-article on Slashgear, the PC vendor will be updating its IdeaPad family of portable computer systems with a new model, featuring the much-anticipated Intel Atom N450 processor, boasting 1.66GHz core frequency and paired with 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. The technical specification of the pictured system are still under question, but given that it is built on the next-generation Atom platform, the details shouldn't be too far off target.

The system sports a 10.1-inch 1024 by 600 pixels display, while the internal hard drive wears the Seagate brand and features a 5400RPM platter speed. Looking at the pictures that have been made available through the FCC, we can see that Lenovo just went for a Piano black design with a rather large keyboard that should be rather easy on the fingers and allow for a good typing experience.

Another interesting feature of the upcoming Lenovo IdeaPad netbook is that the company has decided to built the system with a button-less trackpad, suggesting that users will get to enjoy something close to a MacBook design. Considering that the upcoming Intel platform is currently scheduled for release in the early days of January, the pictured model should be available in the shops early next year.
