Lenovo P70 is not a new device since the Chinese company announced the smartphone back in January and made it available on the market one month later.

However, the smartphone was only available in China, but that's about to change because customers in India will be able to purchase the P70 from all major retailers across the country by the end of this week, MobiPicker reports.

The P70 is mid- to high-end smartphone that ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box. Sadly, Lenovo has yet to announce whether or not the P70 will get an upgrade to Android 5.0 Lollipop in the future.

The smartphone has all the required hardware and then some, so we don't see a reason for which Lenovo will not offer P70 owners the chance to experience the new features and improvements included in Lollipop.

Moving on to actual specs, Lenovo P70 sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It also packs a 13-megapixel camera in the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording.

There's also a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and selfies. Lenovo P70 offers dual-SIM support, along with other connectivity options, including LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with AGPS, microUSB 2.0, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack.

Octa-core processor and 16GB onboard storage

On the inside, the P70 is equipped with a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, a Mali-T760MP2 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, but users can further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Another selling point of the smartphone would be the huge, non-removable 4,000 mAh battery, which is rated for up to 815 hours of standby time or up to 45 hours of talk time.

Customers in India will soon be able to purchase the Lenovo P70 for only Rs 15,999 outright, which is about $250 or €220.
