After clumsily posting the user manual for one of its unreleased devices on its website, the IdeaPad A10 last week, Lenovo has officially revealed the product in broad day light.

Here’s Lenovo’s first laptop powered by the Android operating system. The IdeaPad A10 features a 10.1-inch HD touch-based display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. The screen can be flipped around with 300 degrees and positioned in “stand mode” and then used like a tablet.

Lenovo has slipped an RK3188, quad-core Cortex A9 processor running at a max 1.6GHz to provide multi-tasking capabilities as well as the possibility to run basically anything, from professional software to games and media. Battery is expected to offer a life of up to nine hours of intense use.

VP and General Manager for notebook business unit at Lenovo Bai Peng introduced the first Lenovo Android notebook.

“With the recent explosive growth in Android-based, smart connected devices, customers are relying more on Android apps for both work and play."

"Why would they be required to switch and duplicate to use their laptops? Lenovo’s A10 brings ultra-portability and dual-mode benefits to Android users at a reasonable price. Thin and light, with multiple modes and user-inspired innovations for an outstanding user experience.”

Lenovo has also customized its user interface and added an app launcher, task bar and status bar to allow customers to access what they need quickly and reliably.

Pricing and availability will be made available by Lenovo’s regional branches. Nevertheless, the device appeared in online locations in Germany and the indicated price tag was of $337 / €249.
