Vibe Z3 Pro may be released in China later this month

Lenovo had a consistent presence at this year's Mobile World Congress trade fair, but the Chinese company did not really introduce a flagship smartphone.

The best handset that Lenovo showcased at MWC 2015 was the Vibe Shot, which is aimed at those who prefer camera phones. Other than that, Lenovo introduced several mid-range and affordable Android smartphones and tablets that will be launched globally in the coming weeks.

Although we expected Lenovo to come up with a more powerful product at MWC 2015, it looks like the company decided to introduce its flagship smartphone for this year during a dedicated event later this month.

GizmoChina reports that Lenovo has just teased a new launch event for March 23. The event will be held in China, so whatever device the company plans to announce will likely be available in the Mainland first.

The next flagship smartphone from Lenovo might be the Vibe Z3 Pro, which was previously rumored to be unveiled at MWC 2015. Since that did not happen, we believe that the company will introduce it on March 23.

No word on price tag and availability yet

Lenovo Vibe Z3 Pro is rumored to pack a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixel) capacitive touchscreen display and a powerful 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor.

Another major improvement over the previous Lenovo high-end smartphone is the addition of 4GB of RAM. While there are no details on the camera of the Vibe Z3 Pro, we suspect that the device will be packed with an at least 16-megapixel camera.

Because the Vibe Z3 Pro will require more energy than any of Lenovo's flagship smartphones, the Chinese company is expected to include a huge 4,000mAh battery, which should be enough for what the smartphone has to offer.

It's still too early to talk about price and availability, but more details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for more on Lenovo's upcoming flagship smartphone.
