Lenovo Launches New Desktop PCs

The ThinkCentre M57p for business use

Lenovo recently announced the launch of a new desktop computer system that is aimed at business use and which is expected to provide increased enterprise manageability and security. The newest ThinkCentre M57p desktop from Lenovo is designed to meet the unique demands of large commercial organizations and it provides an unprecedented level of performance thanks to the latest Intel based hardware components.

The ThinkCentre M57p desktop is based on the enterprise
designed for Intel vPro hardware technology and as it comes equipped with an Intel Core 2 Duo quad core processor, the new M57p model is offering all the computing abilities needed by a large organization. The desktop system can be expanded with the mobility of the Lenovo's ThinkPad line of notebooks which are based on Intel Centrino Pro technology at a hardware level and they also feature Active Management Technology as well as Lenovo's own ThinkVantage innovative technology that will allow users to easily manage huge numbers of computer systems.

"Large corporate customers are telling us that manageability and security are essential factors when purchasing PCs for their organization," said Dilip Bhatia, executive director, global desktop marketing, Lenovo. "The new ThinkCentre desktops provide users the latest technologies along with the solutions that IT managers need to manage and to secure a fleet of hundreds or thousands of PCs."

Intel's Active Management Technology 3.0 provides new ways to remotely manage a computer system even if the operating system of its hard disk drive is no longer working. It can also gain access to a powered down computer and it offers complete security. Lenovo's ThinkVantage Technologies were developed to maximize the total uptime of the computer systems as now they can be remotely checked for errors or hardware failures.

The ThinkCentre M57p computer system is available in a small form factor and it is priced from $674 but a monitor is not included. As a standard, it comes with An Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 processor that runs at 2.33GHz and has a frontside bus speed of 1333MHz and a second level of cache memory of 4MB. 1GB of DDR2 random access memory is also delivered as a standard option but users can upgrade to a more suitable size. As the M57p is a business intended machine it only comes with an integrated video solution that is powered by the GMA 3100 chip. On the software side, the newest ThinkCentre from Lenovo comes with the Genuine Windows XP Professional operating system.
