Lenovo has been hosting its Lenovo Tech World conference for the first time in Beijing these past few days, and during the event, the tech giant has taken the opportunity to unveil three value-oriented laptops.

Let’s start off with the Ideapad 100, which arrives both in 14-inch and 15-inch flavors with the standard 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.

Lenovo IdeaPad 100

The device draws life from a 2.16GHz quad-core Intel Bay Trail M N3540 processor fitted with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM and up to 500GB of HDD storage or 128GB SDD, depending on your wants and needs.

The laptop boasts a 20.2 mm / 0.79 inch profile (22.6 mm / 0.88 inches for the 15-inch model), and thanks to its ebony black, chalk white or crimson red coloring options, it looks quite stylish.

Lenovo built the IdeaPad 100 for those who like to be connected all the time and need to check their email and browse the web all the time. A Chromebook replacement, basically.

The machine ships with Windows 8.1 out of the box, but its meager battery life (4 hours) might inspire you to stay away from purchasing the model.

Lenovo Z41

The next laptop we’re going to be talking about was designed to consume multimedia but also to aid with the creation of it.

The device arrives with a 14-inch display with FHD (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) and runs on the latest fifth-gen (Broadwell) Intel Core i7. The notebook can be made to include an optional, dedicated AMD R7 or R9, and it also offers support to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.

Lenovo is also throwing in Dolby DS 1.0 Home Theatre Surround Sound for an intense audio experience.

Lenovo Z51

The Z51 is almost the same as the Z41 in terms of specs, but there are a few differentiations. For starters, the laptop brings a 15-inch display into the picture. Secondly, the device is compatible with an optional Intel RealSense 3D camera.

If you remember, Dell has released some tablets taking advantage of this technology, but the presence of RealSense in Lenovo products is a first. The technology allows the device to scan real-world objects into 3D models, a technique that adds depth in still photos. The focus of these images can also be changed, after the photograph has been snapped.

Availability

Lenovo plans to offer the three new laptops on the market starting this June on the company’s official website. The IdeaPad 100 will go on sale for $249 / €227, while the regular Lenovo Z41 and Z51 start at $499 / €456. If you want the Intel RealSense 3D treatment on the Z51 (plus 8GB of RAM and Intel Core i5), you’ll need to take $599 / €548 out of your pocket.
