Chinese computer maker Lenovo has quickly adopted AMD’s new Trinity APUs that have just been previewed last week and are apparently going to be launched this month. The new computer systems comes with serious connectivity options and support for up to 32 GB of DDR3 DRAM.

The new systems will feature a minimum of four USB 3.0 ports and that’s quite a lot of those as most Intel desktops come with only two or none.

We know that the new AMD Trinity APUs are quite powerful when it comes to 3D processing.

They are able to keep up with a Core i5 in many applications while having a much more capable integrated processing unit iGPU than Intel’s HD 4000 as we reported here.

AMD has also made it clear that the new processors are quite overclockable when extra cooling is added and we reported on that here, but workstations are not usually targeting overclockers anyway.

Even so, if a higher frequency is desired, it can be achieved easily as long as there is BIOS support for setting it up.

The new stations come with very affordable prices as the tags are rated starting from $450 (350 EUR).

The design is mostly office oriented so the workstations are rather bulky and have squared edges, but this is allegedly making them look serious.

On the other hand, we’d rather see these in a more streamlined design as Apple’s own Mac Pro look very good and serious without resembling a Russian T-34.
