14 DAY TRIAL // Lenovo is not only busy with notebooks and UltraBooks at this year’s IFA event in Berlin, Germany, but it is also announcing new all-in-one (AIO) computer systems that are part of the company’s famous IdeaCentre line of products.
The most impressive device announced this year in Lenovo’s AIO line is the IdeaCentre A520.
Many of you might think that this is just a 23” version of the IdeaCentre A720 that was presented during this year’s Computex, but that’s pretty far away from reality, as the smaller brother benefits from a much desired IPS screen with better viewing angles and color reproduction.
Also, the new systems launched today will only be available in late October 2012, after the official Microsoft Windows 8 operating system will have launched.
The base configuration of the A520 is powered by a 2.4GHz Intel Ivy Bridge Core i3-3110M processor, but the buyer could opt for a quad-core 2.7GHz Core i7-3820QM CPU with considerably greater computing power.
The 23” IPS screen can be laid out flat on the table, as it has hinges that allow it to be tilted between -5 degrees to 90 degrees, making it much easier for you to hold your hand over it and use the touch interface.
There are confusing specifications on the A520, as some say that it might be available with an optional Nvidia GeForce 615 video card, but we’re pretty sure the A520 will limit itself to Intel’s HD4000 iGPU.
The B series of the IdeaCentre line is now welcoming two new members; the N340 and the B345 that can be also configured with an AMD APU on the processing side and Nvidia’s low-performing GeForce 615 or AMD’s modest Radeon HD 7470 video cards on the graphics side.
These have 21.5” screens and can also come with optional TV tuners.
The price of the IdeaCentre A520 is slated at $1000 (€794) and the B series will start at $600 (€476).
