Lenovo has a great promotion going on in its Website that allows customers to pre-order the IdeaPad U300s Ultrabook for “just” $1499 (1,153 EUR), $500 less than the ultra-thin’s $1999 base price.

The promotion was so successful that the Ultrabook quickly went on back-order after being listed, according to TechPowerUp.

Those who have managed to pre-order the U300s before the initial quota was reached are expected to receive their Lenovo Ultrabook on December 19, while the rest of the orders will start shipping in January of 2012.

Right now, Lenovo’s ultra-thin notebook is available in a single configuration that sports a Core i7-2677M processor clocked at 1.8GHz, with a maximum Turbo Boost frequency of 2.9GHz.

The Intel processor is seconded by 4GB of system memory, while storage is provided by a 256GB solid state drive.

For graphics duty, Lenovo has chosen to go for the integrated HD 3000 GPU which is paired together with a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the IdeaPad U300s features all the usual 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0 and Ethernet options, but also includes an USB 3.0 port and support for Intel's WiDi wireless video streaming technology.

An HDMI output is also included and the rest of the specs sheet includes an external DVD writer, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a battery pack that can provide up to eight hours of operation without requiring a recharge.

To make the U300s even more enticing for its customers, Lenovo has also added to its latest creation a breathable AccuType keyboard paired together with a stylish glass touchpad featuring easy zoom, scroll and rotate functions.

The company hasn’t mentioned when the Ultrabook will become available, but we expect the U300s to hit retailers after CES 2012.
