14 DAY TRIAL // Earlier today, we were telling you about Acer’s cheap fanless laptops that just made it on the US market. But Lenovo also has a new budget-oriented offer it wants to tempt your soul with.
The catch is that for the moment you can only get it in Germany, as Mobile Geeks reports, but at some point Lenovo might launch the device on the US market, as well.
The new laptop goes by the name of IdeaPad S20-30 and is up for grabs for €269 / $356, though we might see it sell for less if it arrives in America.
The notebook boasts an 11.6-inch anti-glare display and offers 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. Inside lies an Intel Celeron N2830 dual-core Bay Trail processor fitted with 4GB of RAM and either 320GB or 500GB hard drive.
The laptop also comes equipped with 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 port, 2 USB 2.0 port and HDMI output.
It runs Windows 8.1 64-bit out of the box and draws power from a 24Whr battery. But that’s not all, it appears Lenovo will be launching models that take advantage of the Intel Celeron N2930 and Pentium N3540 platform. It sounds quite similar to the Acer Aspire E11 and V11 we talked about earlier today.
So if you’re based in the US and you’re not willing to wait for the Lenovo IdeaPad S20-30, you have a worthy alternative on your hands.
Anyway, this seems a good time as any to remind you that you have an alternative, especially those of you who like working on a more specious display.
The Lenovo IdeaPad G50 laptop arrives with a 15.6-inch display that offers the same resolution as above (1366 x 768 pixels).
But in the processor department, customers have a wider range of choice that goes up as far as Intel Core i7 fitted with 16GB of RAM.
The laptop will cater to the needs of gamers too, due to the presence of the dedicated video card AMD Radeon M230 combined with 2GB of RAM.
As for internal storage, Lenovo goes for the more traditional option by throwing in a capacity of 1TB, which is more than enough if you’re a multimedia lover.
As you can probably see, the Lenovo IdeaPad G50 is a little bit more advanced and offers more in terms of options and functionality. The Core i3 version sells for the price of $499 / €358, which is a little bit more than we expect the IdeaPad S20-30 to sell for.
