It seems that Lenovo has gone all out at CES 2014, pushing out into the light devices to fit the tastes of every consumer out there.

As part of the rolling out, Lenovo introduced the successor of the Y510 gaming laptop and this time the tech giant has launched two models, the 14-inch Y40 and the 15.6-inch Y50, reports Slashgear.

Compared to the predecessor, these new laptops have been slimmed to fit the norm of today's thin and light consumer devices.

The more powerful of the two, the Lenovo Y50 will certainly bring out the best gaming experience due to the fact that it has NVIDIA GTX graphics on board. The Y40, on the other hand, can be fitted with only AMD Radeon M270 2GB graphics.

Customers have a choice in terms of resolution and they can either get full HD (1,920 x 1080 pixels) or an Ultra High Definition (3,830 x 2,160 pixels), but note the latter is only available for the Y50. As far as processors go, gamers can opt to embed Intel 4th-gen chips here (up to i7-4702HQ).

Apart from that, both laptops offer 16GB of RAM and 1TB of SSHD with 8GB SSD. Other specifications include HD webcam, JBL stereo speakers, subwoofer with Dolby Advanced Audio V2, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI out, card reader, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

For the Y50, there’s the option of adding an optional backlit AccuType keyboard with rounded keys.

The laptops both come equipped with Windows 8.1 out of the box and they can withstand up to five hours of intense use.

The biggest selling points of these gaming laptops will certainly be their price. If companies like MSI or Maingear offer gaming laptops with prices starting around the $1,000 / €734 margin, Lenovo’s Y series will become available for prices between $499 / €367 and $999 / €733 starting May 2014.
