Lenovo is one of world's largest smartphone makers, so we expect the company to bring lots of good devices on the market. The company's latest successes aren't in the high-tier range, but in the affordable category.

The A6000 device is selling in India like hot cakes and will probably continue to sell like this until the Chinese company decides to replace it with another affordable smartphone.

However, Lenovo is not all about budget-friendly smartphones. The latest addition to its portfolio is the A6600, which hasn't been officially announced yet.

The good news is the smartphone has been spotted at TENAA, the Chinese regulatory commission, and judging from its specs this is a mid-end device.

It's unclear where exactly Lenovo 6600 will be launched first, but there's a high chance that the smartphone will go on sale in China or other Asian country in the next couple of weeks.

Since the device has already been approved by TENAA, we already know most the phone's specs sheet, so those interested in Lenovo's products might want to read on.

64-bit MediaTek chipset and the promise of a Lollipop upgrade

For starters, Lenovo A6600 is equipped with a 64-bit MediaTek chipset that features a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. It also packs 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

On the back, the upcoming smartphone features an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

The smartphone offers a wide range of connectivity options, including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS with AGPS. However, there's no mention of dual-SIM support yet.

Lenovo A6600 sports a decent 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. Software-wise, the smartphone will ship with Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, but Lenovo promises an Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade will be available at some point.
