If it manages to live up to this plan, the company will prove analysts right

Market watchers have recently been saying that touchscreens will become a common fixture of laptops sooner rather than later.

It won't happen overnight, but it won't take too many months either.

Now, Lenovo has made a prediction which suggests that analysts are totally right in their estimates.

According to Digitimes, Lenovo expects half of its notebooks to have touch panels in the first half of 2014.

Currently, the global proportion of touch-based notebooks is 17%.

Lenovo has already made a move forward, by releasing a bunch of touch-capable notebooks, in Taiwan at least, the other day.

Nevertheless, currently only 10% of its notebooks are touch-capable, so it has its work cut out for it.

Now I'm just wondering if there will be enough touchscreens and associated components for everyone on the planet who's interested.
