At least two of the ThinkPad models were listed with mistaken prices on the company's site

A few weeks ago, we learned about Lenovo's new line-up of lightweight mobile machines, the ThinkPad Notebooks, which promised a lot in what performance and design meant. The new SL, R, T and X series came with a Centrino 2 platform and "rock solid" design, all in the spirit of the company's line of best business-oriented notebooks available on the market. Some of the machines have been tested and reviewed soon after launch and marked with the winner tag. The ThinkPad X200 notebook received special attention from the public.

This travel friendly machine is considered to be an "excellent lightweight notebook for mobile professionals who demand the business essentials". The ultraportable mobile PC also comes with a price suited for the performance level it offers. But, while the launch of the ThinkPad X200 was a success, its road to glory seems to be marked by a strange series of mistakes from Lenovo. The good news is that the mistakes are not connected to the machine itself, but they concern the way it is listed on the company's site.

Yesterday, it appears that the 12.1-inch ThinkPad X200 ultra-portable got a nice price when a 128GB SSD option was selected. This option listed a price $70 lower compared to the standard 80GB hard drive configuration. The price remained quite a while on Lenovo's site, and was appealing enough if put beside the 64GB SSD option which was available for an $830 premium. Some users have posted their orders during the time the mistake was there, so we're wondering whether the company will honor them.

But this is not all regarding Lenovo's site. It seems that the success of the ThinkPad T, SL, W, R, and X-series has led the company into clumsiness area. The next mistake that can be spotted concerns the price of the 14.1-inch ThinkPad R400, said to be the Eee PC killer. The notebook was available for only Canadian $200. It seems that the entire price system has been messed up, and all starts from the baseline price and ends with checkout.

The company's site is probably undergoing massive changes, since at the moment of writing this article no products can be viewed on it. We have tried to make a configuration, but the message "Your session has expired" appears as soon as we leave the product page to access any of the series. We hope this is not another bug and we're waiting to see how the company will fix the problems.
