German optics company Leica has recently released a new firmware update for its S2 and S2-P digital cameras, which comes with a few improvements for the Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH lens.

The Leica S2/S2-P are medium-format digital cameras that, unlike other cameras of this type, come with the size and handling of a full frame DSLR. The sensor found in these cameras is 56% larger than the one you can find in a regular full-frame DSLR.

Leica S2 and S2-P are some of the most expensive medium-format DSLRs on the market and are mostly used by high-end commercial, advertising, or fashion photographers.

Leica Vario-Elmar-S 30-90mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH lens is a compact, versatile, and quite expensive lens that covers the same focal length as a 24-70mm zoom lens (35mm format).

According to LeicaRumors the new firmware update can be downloaded from the Owner's Area on the Leica website by any member who has a Leica S2 or S2-P SLR camera registered.
