The camera has been due to arrive for a couple of years now

Most major photo gear manufacturers are getting ready for Photokina 2014 which is scheduled to start next week in Germany, and you can expect to see lots and lots of goodies.

Like Canon, Nikon and other giants in the industry, Leica is going to be present with a few novelties of its own.

As LeicaRumors reports, we might actually see a new digital rangefinder without an LCD screen. This will be a limited-edition M60 digital snapper and some of you might have been waiting for it since 2012.

The current theory is that the camera will arrive with one lens (either 35mm or 50mm Summilux). Furthermore, a famous designer was tasked with the project of producing this limited edition.

The special M60 is said to be made of unique metal/or some other kind of special material. You can expect the camera to arrive with a “reasonable” price-tag, but knowing Leica I can’t help but laugh inwardly.

Not so long ago I brought you word of the Leica M9 Titanium Edition which sold for no more, no less than $26,500 / €20,478.

So you better start saving up already if you’d like to own an M60 digital rangefinder with LCD. Keep an eye out for it at Photokina 2014.
