Photography giant Leica is celebrating 100 years since the Leitz Camera, the very first Leica, saw the light of day in 1914. And in 2014, Leica AG is honoring the occasion in their characteristic style, by putting out two centennial limited edition products.

The theme is of course “100 years of Leica photography” and the two new models are the Leica S Edition 100 and D-Lux 6 Edition 100. The first one is a medium-format system camera bundled with two of the most popular S lenses, both with central shutter available, in the form of the Leica Summarit-S 70 mm f/2.5 ASPH.CS and the Leica Elmarit-S 30 mm f/2.8 ASPH CS.

The lenses have been engraved with the Leica centennial logo and come sporting an aluminum protective case.

As for the second model, the D-Lux 6, this is a compact camera with a stylish two-color finish. There’s also a silver lens and a high-gloss black camera body available with the bundle and both have the centennial logo engraved on them. The camera has an accessory companion, in the form of a camera case made of black leather.

The D-Lux 6 is limited to 5,000 units worldwide. There’s no pricing availability for the new cameras just yet, but knowing Leica, they won’t come cheap.
