Lego Universe, the recent MMORPG based on the popular toy franchise, will be on the receiving end of a major content update that will go live on May 3, and brings new content like cooperative building, racing and increases the property worlds in the online game.

Lego Universe is definitely a breath of fresh air in the realm of massive multiplayer online role-playing games, offering a great experience through the iconic toy franchise.

Now, after receiving some new things back in February, the online game is now getting ready for another major update.

"On May 3, players must band together to tackle a cooperative building challenge; a month-long mission to complete the construction of the Nexus Tower," revealed the game's developer, NetDevil.

"LEGO Universe will also add a fiery hot racetrack, exclusive racing vehicles and bigger Property worlds, with new capabilities – like placing pets on your personal Property and bringing them to life! All of this, plus tons of new models, missions, rewards and more, are headed to LEGO Universe next week."

First up, the major event during the month of May will be the cooperative construction of the Nexus Tower, a special building that will protect the Nexus of Imagination from the evil Maelstrom enemy forces.

In order to get it finished, players will need to donate bricks at the Nimbus Station Race Place, and, besides knowing that they contributed, gamers will also earn achievements and rare one-time-only rewards.

When they won't be donating for the Nexus effort, players can now engage in actual races around the Dragonmaw Chasm track, with eight exclusive vehicles that are representative of the four factions in the game, the Sentinels, Venture League, Assembly and Paradox.

Last but not least, the property worlds have also been updated, with a new space being added in the form of the Nimbus Station, accessible from the already present Nimbus Isle.

Players will also be able to place the pets on their in-game properties and offer them custom behaviors for a more lifelike interaction.

Expect the new Lego Universe update to appear on May 3, but, until then, you can check out a batch of screenshots with the new features below.
