Fans of Lego The Hobbit will be able to embark on the adventure with three new content packs that have been made available for download on the PlayStation Network and on Xbox Live.

The three content packs deliver awesome new items and characters that fans of the Middle-earth adventure will surely recognize, as well as a ton of new side-quests.

The Big Little Character Pack delivers Baby Smaug, as a fearsome character to take on any adversaries with, and also features a cameo of Baby Gimli from "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. In addition, players will be introduced to the gargantuan Snow Troll and will be able to tackle the perils of the journey to Lonely Mountain with Bandobras "Bullroarer" Took or a Stone Dwarf.

The Side Quest Character Pack allows players to assume command of some big Lego figures, such as the River Trolls or Girion, the last Lord of Dale. Additionally, you will be able to charge into battle with the courageous Dwarf soldier and ride across the landscape with the noble Elk.

The Battle Pack affords players a wealth of thematic weaponry with which to destroy The Tower of Sorcery with, from the Shadow Sword to the Jeweled Mithril Armor, showcasing some of the best Dwarven craftsmanship ever seen.

The Battle Pack also delivers the Light Orb Shield, a powerful protective item, as well as the Axe Guitar, Orc Cleaver and Orc Bow, making the armies of the Necromancer quiver in fear.

In addition to all this, the downloadable content pack also allows brave adventurers to add a touch of style to their feats, with a pair of Lake-town Boots and Smaug's Feet, with an extra majestic touch brought on by Smaug's Headdress and the Dwarf King Wig.

Lego The Hobbit was developed by Traveller's Tales, released last month and delivering a unique take on the classical story imagined by J. R. R. Tolkien. The game is a sequel to Lego The Lord of the Rings and is based on the first two movies in "The Hobbit" trilogy, "An Unexpected Journey" and "The Desolation of Smaug."

Like all other Lego-based games, Lego The Hobbit also shares the mechanic of looking for specific materials in order to build some big machinery, and using the characters' special abilities to tackle various encounters in the most effective way.

Lego The Hobbit is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, Nintendo 3DS and Windows PC platforms.
