After a leaked reveal last week, Warner Bros. and Traveller's Tales have confirmed that they're going to launch a Lego The Hobbit game in spring of 2014, covering the events from the first two movies in the series – An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug.

Lego games from Traveller's Tales have covered a wide array of different blockbuster movie franchises, from Star Wars, to Lord of the Rings, or Harry Potter.

Now, after a brief foray into the world of comic books, through Lego Marvel Super Heroes, the developer has confirmed that it's going to debut a special Lego The Hobbit experience next year.

The new title will chart the adventures seen in the first two movies in The Hobbit series, An Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug, the latter of which being set to appear in theaters this December.

Just like in the movies, a wide array of characters will be present, including protagonist Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, and Thorin Oakenshield, but also their array of allies, like the rest of the dwarf gang: Fíli, Kíli, Óin, Glóin, Dwalin, Balin Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Dori, Nori, and Ori.

Each of these characters will have different abilities, which will be put to good use considering the Lego The Hobbit game will take players through many different environments from the Lord of the Rings universe, including High Pass, The Misty Mountains, Goblin-town, Mirkwood, and Rivendell.

"We are thrilled to depict the characters and environments of Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth in LEGO form with the LEGO The Hobbit videogame. Our family-friendly take on these thrilling adventures will have kids and parents playing and laughing together as they build and explore in LEGO Middle-earth," Tom Stone, managing director of Traveller's Tales, said about the new game, via an official statement.

Check out a few screenshots from the new experience below and get ready for its launch in spring of 2014 for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, 3DS, and PS Vita.
