Lego City Undercover, the new Wii U exclusive title coming this week to the Nintendo console, has a special digital download version that weighs in at a whopping 22GB, meaning gamers who want to get it via the online eShop must have an external hard drive to receive it.

The Nintendo Wii U came out in November with two storage options, either 8GB or 32GB. Sadly, due to the size of the console's firmware, the actual usable space for both those consoles was much smaller.

Nintendo told owners that they can connect any type of external hard drive to store extra content and now it seems that Wii U users who want to download Lego City Undercover have to use such an accessory, as the game's digital version occupies 22GB, according to CVG.

Lego City Undercover will be available starting today, March 18, in North America, and comes out on March 28, in Europe, on the Wii U as a retail and digital version.
