If you are a wrestling fan, you probably remember the late eighties/early nineties when today's wrestling legends used to offer quality entertainment, live from the ring. Hulk Hogan, Bret "Hitman" Hart, Mr. Fuji and Dynamite Kid are just a few of the legends nobody will probably forget. The good news is that all of them (and many more) are coming back to the virtual rings, for one more mad championship, only for you to enjoy.

We all have to thank THQ for that, since they are the ones bringing us WWE Legends of WrestleMania, planned to be released in March 2009, just before the 25th edition of Wrestlemania on the 5th of April in Houston, Texas. The game will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles.

"WWE fans are extremely supportive of our leading fighting videogame franchise, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw, and they have wanted a Legends-based game for quite some time," said Tracy Williams, director, global brand management, THQ. "WWE Legends of WrestleMania has the right combination of talent, gameplay and presentation elements to extend the sports entertainment videogame experience and enable gamers to relive, rewrite or redefine classic moments etched in WWE's history books."

The game will use the power of today's consoles to rewrite and re-create the best fights, competitions and tournaments from the eighties and the nineties. We will get the chance to choose and play as any of the over 40 big name Legends and we'll also be allowed to control the Legendary Managers, who will play crucial roles in the matches' outcomes.

WWE Legends of WrestleMania will bring a new grapple-based fighting system, as well as a brand new combo system. THQ promises to capture the action and drama of wrestling matches as seen on TV, including dynamic visual treatments, signature ring entrances for the legends and renowned announcers. Also, the game modes will allow you to create your own legend and bring him the ultimate glory, while defeating every other legend that existed. Cool, huh?
