Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, the voice that defined the Woodstock generation, is now in hospital after paramedics rushed to her house following a 911 call. She was unconscious when they arrived but recovered in the ambulance, on the way to the hospital.

Embedded below are two official statements regarding her condition, as posted on her official Facebook page. The tone of both is serious but not offering anything to worry about to fans, who are asked to “sing a song” and send a prayer her way.

Mitchell is 71 and has been suffering from a rare skin condition known as Morgellons Disease, which makes it impossible for her to perform. However, as of the time of writing, there is no connection between this diagnosis and her recent incident.

Celebrity publication TMZ cites inside sources confirming the official statement, namely that she was unconscious when paramedics arrived but later became alert on the way to the hospital, in the ambulance. However, it also notes that her condition is “quite serious,” but can’t provide more details as to how it came to be this way.

The official Facebook of the star promises updates on her condition as soon as they’re available. Doctors are now conducting tests on her to determine what went wrong, so keep an eye on this space for more details.
