Legendary FPS Will Hit the Market This Summer

- Griffins, werewolves and many other creatures are being prepared to fight against you

By: Calin Ciabai, Games Editor

Legendary is called "a first person shooter of mythical proportions" and the developers might be right, since you will have to fight against all the creatures you can think of,
from griffins to werewolves and minotaurs. Dubbed Atari's best shooter, the game will be available for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 consoles, as well as PC systems starting this summer.

"This is the project we want to be working on and it’s shaping up to be something amazing," said Craig Allen, CEO of Spark Unlimited, the games' developers. "Legendary is the type of game we want every gamer, regardless of system allegiance, to get the chance to play. We’re taking our time to ensure optimum performance, regardless of platform."

And that sounds good, we're starting to get tired to find out that we have to upgrade our systems every time a new great game is launched! Legendary will tell the story Charles Deckard, a thief like no other, that is duped into stealing Pandora's Box. But, since he is just a human being, he opens it and the hell breaks loose: hordes of beasts thought to be fictional are released into the modern world and the ultimate fight for survival begins without warning. Everything gets even more complicated when powerful secret societies enter the game – you, Mr. Charles Deckard will become humanity's last hope, the only person capable of containing once more the terrifying creatures.

"This exciting and original title takes the lead in our Atari Shooter line up," said Mathias Hautefort, Executive Vice President of publishing and production, Atari. "Producing a game of this quality and scale is a major undertaking, but the highly talented team at Spark Unlimited is more than up to the job."

We sure hope that Legendary will manage to rise to the challenge and really become a FPS of mythical proportions – it would just be too sad to see such a promising title ripped into pieces by a pack of no-good werewolves.
