The game will focus on the same classic ARPG mechanics

The team at Almost Human Ltd is ready to officially talk about its upcoming Legend of Grimrock 2, delivering a development update that focuses on the state of the game and its plans for the near future.

There are already 5 or 6 levels that have been created and are in pre-alpha state, with the entire puzzle design done and ideas about how monsters and other items will fit in.

The team also has eight new monsters to use, including two spell casters, and there’s a new behavior that has been designed for them, alongside a number of general improvements to their intelligence.

Almost Human adds, “The codebase has been in quite a bad shape after working so furiously on the first game. So I’ve been doing a lot of code refactoring which is a bit unthankful work because I’m rewriting a lot code and on the surface nothing seem to be changing.”

The Dungeon Editor is also being updated with new tools and more functionality.
