Those of you who were hoping for a Led Zeppelin reunion are about to have their hopes dashed like so many waves hitting the rocky shores of Gibraltar. The rockers have been fueling speculations for some time, but now it seems that their chances of getting back together are “zero,” according to singer Robert Plant.

But to ease the pain of never seeing your idols perform, the band is releasing a couple of previously unheard material, which they've been keeping locked away in studio vaults for years. One of the tracks that's coming out is an early version of the band's most famous song “Whole Lotta Love.”

These recordings are going to usher in the reissue of the band's first three albums that are due to drop in June of this year, and they will be featured on a set of companion discs that will have alternative versions of the songs, works in progress and live performances.

Legendary guitarist for the band, Jimmy Page, claimed that he spent the better part of two years combing through Led Zeppelin's decade-long archive in order to come up with these songs. In his opinion, the material is better off being released by them, than by someone else after their death.

Page stands behind the new songs, claiming that the material deserves to be heard, calling it “performance art.”
