Rock fans in general and Led Zeppelin fans in particular have plenty of reasons to rejoice, as the legendary band has announced it will be re-releasing new version of its first three albums, “Led Zeppelin,” “Led Zeppelin II” and “Led Zeppelin III.”

The iconic rockers plan their reissue this summer, according to Rolling Stone, as part of their “extensive reissue program,” which is eventually going to include all of their nine studio albums.

The first batch of albums has been digitally remastered by guitarist and producer Jimmy Page for that extra bit of quality. Each album will be a single-disc release but will be available also as a “Deluxe Edition” which includes a bonus disc with previously unreleased studio and live tracks that the band recorded at the time it was making the respective album.

“The material on the companion discs presents a portal to the time of the recording of Led Zeppelin,” said Jimmy Page, explaining that “It is a selection of work in progress with rough mixes, backing tracks, alternate versions and new material recorded at the time.”

The new versions of the old albums are going to be available in variety of formats which include CD, vinyl and digital download. Apart from there, the band is also compiling a “Super Deluxe Boxed Set” of each album that is going to contain, apart from all of the CD and vinyls, a high-definition audio download card, a hardcover book with previously unseen photos and memorabilia from the band, and a high quality print of the album cover.

The first batch of albums is set to hit the shelves in June of this year.
