Lease for Heidi Montag’s new house hints her split from Spencer Pratt may be fake

When Heidi Montag’s publicist confirmed for the media that his client had split from her husband Spencer Pratt, the world was left reeling: not necessarily because the couple was that beloved but rather because they seemed joined at the hip in their attempt at scoring headlines – too much so to break up without a word. According to AceShowbiz, the key that unlocks this mystery is to be found in something as simple as a lease.

As we also reported, when Heidi announced she was trying to spend some time apart from Spencer, she said she would be moving in with a female friend in Malibu because she obviously needed some distance. Also then, word got out she was working on a new reality show, which, understandably, sparked speculation as to whether the move was a planned one and the breakup was only meant to generate publicity for the show. As it turns out, this may very well be the case.

“Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt’s split has become more suspicious. Heidi recently announced that she would move into a $5.5 million Malibu pad with her friend Jennifer Bunney but TMZ reported that the beach house where Heidi and Jen plan to stay for new reality TV show, ‘The Heidi Show,’ was actually leased out two days before the split was confirmed by Heidi’s rep. Another eyebrow-raising catch which was revealed by the site was that neither Heidi’s nor Jen’s name was on the lease for the Malibu house, and even Spencer’s name was not on it. Moreover, the lease is only three months long with an option to re-new for six months or a year,” AceShowbiz writes.

“A day after Heidi’s rep confirmed the separation, the star’s sister Holly Montag, on May 29, wrote on her Twitter page, ‘Shes not. If anyone has come to expect anything from those 2 is that THEY r the LIARS.’ Meanwhile, a source previously told Us Magazine, ‘Heidi and Spencer are laughing over it and having a blast.’ And although Heidi previously said that the split was ‘100% not a publicity stunt,’ Heidi’s new TV show curiously will be produced by Spencer’s production company, Pratt Production. ‘This breakup is the latest part of Spencer’s master plan,’ another source told the site,” the same e-zine says citing ongoing reports.

Another odd thing about the breakup is that Spencer, who is usually very vocal on Twitter, hasn’t yet said anything about it, which means Heidi has been given full liberty to claim the separation was his fault. Ironically enough, she refrained from doing so, saying only she needed some time apart from him to focus on her acting career.
