The latest version of Nootka can be downloaded from Softpedia

Nootka, an open source application that can be used to learn and teach classical score notation, is now at version 0.9.5 RC1.

Nootka is mostly employed by guitarists, but it can also be used for ear training. It has numerous features to personalize the user's needs and capabilities, natural sounds of classical guitar, accurate pitch detection method, and many others.

Highlights of Nootka 0.9.5 RC1:

• An exercise mode, without penalties and elapsing time, has been added; • More options have been added for exercises (clues, additional note names, etc.); • The support for instruments different than guitar has been extended; • Nootka now gives “Certificate of Exam Completion” when you pass; • The English language in Nootka has been corrected and improved; • GUI layout enhancements have been implemented.

Download Nootka 0.9.5 RC1 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
