There are quite few mobile phone manufacturers that focus on the luxury phone market, mainly because it is rather hard to create a handset that is appealing enough for users to spend so much money on it. In the case of luxury phones, features don't really matter with the key feature being design.
One manufacturer that has proven successful in selling and producing mobiles is Nokia, with both their Nokia-branded phones and phones by their fully owned subsidiary Vertu appealing to all types of users, including the fashion-conscious
ones.
Nokia has also managed to produce a phone that is somewhere between your regular mobile phone and a luxury one, the Nokia 8800. Although coming with a design and price tag that set it apart from other mobile phones, the
8800 still doesn't enter the luxury phone category that its Sirocco Edition twin does. It combines both style and functionality by including several nice features and a rather good looking stainless steel case.
Rumor has it that the
Nokia 8800, available on the market for over a year, will finally get a replacement. According to rumors, the phone will be dubbed 8600 Luna. Leaked photos of the handset have already shown up on Howard Forums. Unfortunately, aside from what can be deduced from the photo (that it comes in a slider form factor and packs a camera) other details weren't provided. Which means that we've yet to find out when the phone will be released, what features it will include as well as its price. Hopefully, the Finish mobile phone manufacturer will officially announce this stylish handset soon.
