14 DAY TRIAL // Some Chinese people have worked up an admittedly convincing “Apple TV spot” purporting to show the next-generation iPhone. For the untrained eye, it could well pass for a genuine Apple commercial. However, it is not.
“Leaked” on Chinese video site Youku, the purported Apple advertisement features several discrepancies when compared to a real Apple TV spot. For example, the emphasis on technical specifications, which Apple hardly ever does.
There’s also the length of the movie, which far exceeds Apple’s standards for a spot that’s not backed by a voiceover. Lastly, the renderings are so poor even non-Apple fans will realize it’s fake.
Admittedly, the authors do seem to be well documented, as they’ve pretty much nailed every possible rumor in this footage. They’ve even included some new features, like Notification Center (which doesn’t look bad at all).
