Leaked Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23060 Now Available

Windows Mobile 6.5 leaked build series continues with two fresh items, Build 23060 and Build 23420. As with the other leaked builds of the operating system, the new ones surfaced into the wild from XDA-Developers and are reported to have been compiled on September 28, only two days ago. The improvements they bring along are only minor ones, it seems, though they tend to be faster than the previously leaked Build 23053.

A quick look at the screenshots below will enable you to make an idea of how the mobile platform from Microsoft evolves on its way towards a possible Windows Mobile 6.5.1 release. The list of changes that Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23060 and Build 23420 incorporate, and which emerged on RedmondPie, shows:
- Email folder in Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile gets new colored icons.
- Improved browsing experience on Internet Explorer Mobile.
- Definitely faster and more responsive than the last leaked Build 23053.
- Faster boot time.
- Build 23420 has the new contacts app.
- Build 23060 has the menu eye candy but not the new contacts app.
- Incorporates the updated GUI from the later COM3 builds into COM4.
- Better memory management.

Expect for more changes in the Windows Mobile 6.5.1 branch to emerge in the future as other Builds will certainly make their appearance into the wild. Cooked ROMs of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 Build 23060 and Build 23420 should also emerge, as with previously leaked builds. Those who own a WinMo-based handset and would like to give the new builds a try will be able to find them available for download on various websites, though we do not encourage them to do so, especially if they are not familiar with the process.
