Windows Live Messenger 9.0 has been leaked to the web and is available for download right here! Version 9.0 is designed as the successor of Windows Live Messenger 8.5 released in its final form at the beginning of November. The past week, Microsoft began sending out invitations to the private beta testing program of Windows Live Messenger 9.0. Subsequently, on November 27, the Redmond company opened up the beta testing program to a pool of some 5,000 participants. But at the same time, the official Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta build 9.0.1407.1107 has been leaked and is up for grabs available to all users.

The screenshots included in this article will let you feast your eyes on the latest version of Microsoft's instant messaging client. As you will be able to see, in this initial beta testing phase, the company has focused
little on overhauling the graphical user interface of Windows Live Messenger 9.0. The similarities with Windows Live Messenger 8.5 are evident, but all the goodies this version delivers are of course under the hood.

With Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta, users will be able to sign-in and send messages from multiple locations, as well as enjoy signature, personalized and per contact sounds. Build 9.0.1407.1107 also brings to the table SPIM Reporting, Animated Display Pictures, Link in Personal Status Message, Behind the Scenes Changes and Windows Live Contacts Server.

"This is a beta version of Windows Live Messenger. Beta versions are pre-released versions of software products. Because you're using a beta version of Messenger, you may experience problems signing in and connecting to the Messenger service. If you are having these problems, uninstall messenger Beta, and then install the latest, released version from the Messenger home page," is a fragment of the information accompanying the release of Windows Live Messenger 9.0.

The screenshots will leave no room for doubt. This is the actual Windows Live messenger 9.0 beta build 9.0.1407.1107. You will be able to download and install it without any problems. Be advised that the new version will automatically uninstall Windows Live messenger 8.5. However, at this point in time, the sole caveat of Windows Live Messenger 9.09 beta is the fact that I have not been able to sign-in. Instead, I got the Error code: 80072eff. I'm not sure, but it seems that, as Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta is limited to the 5,000 testers via Microsoft Connect, the company has also restricted the sign-in process.

"We were unable to sign you into Windows Live Messenger Beta at this time. Please try again later. Windows Live Messenger has made several failed attempts to sign you in. Your firewall may be blocking Windows Live Messenger from connecting to the service. Please review your firewall settings. See the retailer's instructions for more information", reads the message accompanying the error.

Windows Live Messenger 9.0 Beta is available for download here. (Due to a request from Microsoft, this download has been removed temporarily. However, Windows Live Messenger 9 will be available for download as soon as it is oficially published. Check back often to ensure you don't miss it!)
