14 DAY TRIAL // Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile might be getting ready for the release of a new Xperia Z1 model, and leaked photos with the device have already emerged online.
Said images show the new mobile phone all dressed up in Red, while also running under a yet unannounced, new flavor of Google’s Android operating system, namely 4.4.2 KitKat.
There’s no telling on whether these images, available courtesy of SECafe, are the real deal or not, and we’ll take them with a grain of salt for the time being.
However, it might not come too much as a surprise if Sony indeed decided to release a new version of its latest flagship Android smartphone, especially with the holiday season upon us.
For those out of the loop, we should note that Sony released the Xperia Z1 in three color variants, namely Black, Purple and White.
As XperiaGuide notes, this new variant might be only a Limited Edition phone, yet no official confirmation on the matter has emerged until now. Details on when we might see the new smartphone version on shelves are missing as well.
Even so, the leaked photos with the device provide us with the possibility to have a close look at its front and back, while also showing a close-up with its about screen.
What remains to be seen is whether the emergence of these leaked photos also points at a near release of Android 4.4 KitKat for the Xperia Z1 devices out there.
Sony has already confirmed plans to make the platform update available to its users, though it announced that they would receive it only next year.
