The handset also comes in black and white

Last week, during the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona, we were able to see the ultrathin Nokia E55 showcased by the Finnish mobile phone maker, yet the company unveiled to the world only two color variants of the handset, namely black and white.

Beside the officially-revealed versions of the smartphone, some images with the device that have recently been leaked to the Web show that Nokia also has a red E55. The photos of the half-QWERTY handset that have been spotted into the wild show that the phone does look appealing while dressed in red, as well as in black or white.

Undoubtedly, the mobile phone maker was somehow expected to unveil a red version of the device, the same way it did with most of its Eseries handsets. It’s a common fact that Nokia already has a red variant of E71 and a red E75, as well as a partially-red E63.

The nice looking smartphone has been presented by Nokia as “the world’s most compact messaging device.” The new E55 handset features the Symbian S60 3.2 Edition operating system, while also including Wi-Fi connectivity, a 2.4 inch QVGA display that can deliver to users 16 million colors, a digital compass, a 3.5mm headset jack as well as a 3.2 Megapixel photo snapper with auto focus.

The handset measures only 9.9 mm in thickness and comes with a 500 mAh battery, which is able to deliver up to 8 hours of talk-time or up to 30 days of stand-by time. The new Nokia E55 is expected to become available during the second quarter of the ongoing year. The price of the smartphone is considered likely to be about $336 (265 Euros). For the time being, the company hasn't announced anything regarding the availability of the red version of the device.
