The company could make them official next month alongside Honami

Xperia Honami, the long-rumored upcoming Android-based smartphone from Sony Mobile, is expected to land on shelves with a 20.7-megapixel photo snapper, but it seems that users will receive more camera capabilities than initially believed.

The vendor has already been rumored to plan the release of external lens-camaras for smartphones, and the first photos with these devices have made it online.

Spotted over at SonyAlphaRumors, said photos show two such products from Sony, namely the Sony DSC-QX10 and DSC-QX100, and detail the manner in which users will be able to take advantage of them.

Apparently, Sony has packed these lens-cameras with built-in sensor, Bionz processor, Wifi/NFC wireless connection and microSD card slot.

One of these lenses will feature the Sony RX100MII camera sensor and Zeiss lens, rumor has it. The second of them will come with 10x zoom lens with 1/2.3 inch 18MP CMOS sensor.

They can be attached to the smartphone, paired with it via the included connectivity (most probably NFC), and can be controlled through the handset’s interface.

Apparently, Sony has designed the lenses with support for both Android and iOS devices, which means that they won’t be exclusive to Xperia users when made official.

As XperiaBlog notes, these lenses won’t be cheap, and it remains to be seen how well they will fare once released on the market.

Three photos with the upcoming products have emerged online, set to provide us with a good look at them, and also capable of showing once again the yet-unannounced Xperia Honami.

The third leaked photo attached to this article seems to be showing the said handset, which is currently rumored to have been slated for a September 4 unveiling at the IFA show in Berlin.

Hopefully, it won’t be too long before Sony decides to make some specific details on this official, so stay tuned to learn additional info.
