South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung is expected to officially announce the launch of its first smartphone powered by the recently unveiled bada OS on Sunday, and a series of new details on the device emerged recently. It seems that the device is to be called Wave, which makes sense somehow, since “bada” means “ocean” in Korean, and it appears that the first photos with the device are also available for your viewing pleasure.

When it comes to Samsung and its bada OS, the expectations seem to have been set pretty high. The company has already said that it aims big with the launch of the mobile platform, and the latest rumors suggested that we're to see impressive smartphones put on display. The latest rumors suggest that this first handset running under bada will be called Wave, and that it will be a full-touch device. Moreover, Daily Mobile has just come up with a series of photos with the gadget, as well as with some details on the specs it should include.

According to the news site, the Samsung Wave that can be admired in the said photos below (which we hope are showing the real thing), should include a 3.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display, along with a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, flash and 720p video capabilities, a 1GHz processor inside, 2GB of internal memory, HSDPA and WI-FI b/g/n connectivity options, a 3.5 mm jack, and Samsung's Touchwiz 3.0 UI on top of the bada OS.

At the same time, the handset is also expected to feature Divx player, a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space to be included in the equation, an Aluminum body, and more, while being only 10.9mm thick. One certain thing is that the device seems to be shaping up as a very appealing phone, in case all these specs prove real in the end. The official announcement on Samsung's first smartphone powered by the bada OS is set to be made tomorrow, as stated above, which means that it won't be long before we learn whether this is the real deal. Keep an eye on this space for more.
